Theatres to OTT - Analysing the transition

It's the fifth month of lockdown, and I am quite sure that most of us became hardcore cinephiles, who rather than just watch movies, started to analyse films thoroughly, started to experiment new genres, saw variety of movies around the globe. So,in a nutshell, lockdown was pretty quite awesome for all movie lovers(including me,and my bois) .

Starting from Extraction, we slowly began to cope up with this OTT stuff and especially,we began to love Netflix(Me).Then showcasing many Indian stuffs like Choked,Kappela,Gunjan Saxena,Raat Akeli Hein,Bulbbul and many more flicks ,we began to merge with this OTT culture. Ya,I was not missing out other platforms like Amazon prime or Hotstar(now Disney+Hotstar, I honestly didn't loved it) ,but i was shoeing my love towards Netflix, just because it killed most of my time giving me LCDP,Dark,Little Things and more importantly,Sacred games.(NB: 'killing' was used in a very positive way).
On the other side,Amazon prime, who stood as a competitor for other patforms, but was not strong enough to battle with them.Major releases being Shakunthala Devi,Penguin,Ponmaghal Vandhaal and Sufiyum Sujathayum, all of it stood just above the average mark, which means not as good as a satisfactioner.

Disney+Hotstar,is always a mark above all others, just because it is free for all.In my case,I watched many old movies from Hotstar, that too in a very good quality.Hotstar, being an early streamer, made much reception in Indian audiences just by streaming their favourite serials. Another proficient move from it's side was the release of Dil Bechara. Not just because of SSR,Dil Bechara had the best audio qaulity among all other movies I had seen from OTT(personal opinion).

So,after all these things,we managed to swim with the flow, but can we just forget theatres. NO! Watching an amazingly made superstar movie with all those fans and a total comedy entertainer with buddies and a smooth family film with family.....how can we ever get such vibes from a small screen. It is impossible. Now coming n to the technical side, how can we ever watch a 3D movie made with 4DLSR sound in a home theater. It is different guys.OTT is a very profitable and reliable platform for low budget films which focus on script more than it's making.Such movies can be sold to these platform for a much profitable rates, which 'may' be more than the gross collection from theatres. But at the same time ,as an aspiring filmmaker, every filmmaker's dream will be of showing their names on the bigscreen. Watching that credit in the midst of audience must be an another level emotion(I haven't been there, but still I can feel that).
OTT doesn't replace theatres.Once this bloody bullshit is over,we can hope for better management on Cinemahalls like All Online Ticket systems and Social Distanced seating and etceteras.
After all,art is the major thing. All other things are subsidiary.
Let Art Flourish.
